This is the best Taekwondo school. The master Kwon and Maste Lee respect and teach the children. I would like to recommend this place to everyone. Masters is amazing and loves children. We love this place too.

The only place in Newport Beach for childrens self-defense. The masters are patient, caring and create a positive environment that reaches further then just Tae Kwon Do. I chose this studio after trying others for my son and this studio was by far the best fit. I wanted my son to learn self defense second and mind focus and control to be first. Sunrise studio has far exceeded our expectations and I chose to enroll my son in the black belt program after he finished the tiny tigers program.

If you have a young child and want them to learn discipline while having fun, Sunrise is the place.

Love Sunrise. We highly recommend. Both my kids have been attending for over 5 years now. I love the character building attention, and the seriousness to being an example of excellence inside and outside of the studio.

I set up a private class with Grand Master Kwon for a group of co-workers for a company sponsored fitness day. Master Kwon himself taught the class with aid from black belt Thomas. They walked us through the basics of self defense and made it easy to understand. They first went through great warm up exercises, and then taught us different moves that are used in self defense and the reasons why. We got to try out the different moves on Master Kwon and Thomas (with pads of course) and even had a time to partner up with our group for a lesson on take downs. They were detailed in their teachings and we all left feeling empowered and educated. Thank you again Master Kwon and Thomas!

SMA and Masters Yu and Kwon have been great for our 5 year old. He was exhibiting aggressive behavior in school and having a tough time with impulse control. They have taught him body control and discipline and he loves going to Tae Kwon Do. He's and orange belt now and intends to become a black belt some day. Thanks SMA for all your patient but firm help with our son.

Over the past 5 years my family has worked with the Masters at all three of Sunrise Martial Arts Studios. You couldn't be in better hands, whether a child or adult this team will bring out your best!

This studio is the best studio for all ages. The masters are professional and motivating. They have helped with my son's coordination and discipline. They remember they are dealing with children and pay attention to the different developmental stages while still pushing the kids a little past their comfort zones. I love how they make the classes fun so the students don't get bored.
I encourage anyone who is considering TKD or any martial arts to stop by and take a look, it really is a great place for your kids and well, the entire family!

My youngest daughter (10) has been learning Tae Kwon Do at Sunrise for the last 3 months and it has been an amazing experience. Master Yu brings so much energy to each class that she has never had so much fun working out. And it's a tough workout. She has been able to work 1-on-1 with 4-5 different masters who each add their own perspective and have transformed a kid we all thought was just "not athletic" who is now more coordinated and now likes playing different sports at recess. On top of that she is in better shape, her focus has improved, she is a better listener and more confident. I highly recommend.
